Academy Holds First Meetings

At the 2007 FIP World Congress of Podiatry which took place in Copenhagen, the FIP's new Academy of Podiatric Medical Educators sponsored two sessions: the first meeting of its Governing Council, the policy driving factor within the Academy and its first Educational Conference. The Governing Council meeting was held all day on Thursday, 13 May, while the Educational Conference was held the following day.

Presently the minutes of the Governing Council are in preparation and will be available here as soon as they are ready. However, we are pleased to present here the three presentations made at the Educational Conference. Keep in mind that the morning session of the Conference was devoted to introducing the Academy and its Governing Council members while the afternoon session was devoted to a series of three presentations on key educational matters: competencies of podiatrists, recognition of educational quality and ccontinuning professional development. Below are the three presentations. Since then the next meeting of the Academy took place in 2010 at the FIP World Congress of Podiatry in Amsterdam. On October18th and the Executive Board Academy of Podiatric Medical Educators met followed by its Annual General Meeting on October 19th, in Rome, Italy.
