 International Podiatry Congress in Leon Guanajuato, Mexico

 FIP President Dr Joesph Caporusso and Bernadino Basas DP deliver lectures at the recent International Podiatry Congress in Leon Guanajuato, Mexico. This meeeting was 3rd leg in the FIP "Global Lecture Series", thanks to a generous sponsorship that was provided by Footmax, USA.

Pope Francis Blesses the FIP

St Peters square in front of the Basillica this morning was packed jammed packed with 10's of thousand, as Pope Francis (Papa Francesco gave his blessing to all in attendance. Thanks to the leadership of all FIP, all registrants had the opportunity to partake in the papal as a part of their social programs during this year's FIP World Congress. While listening to the names of the special groups in attendance, Pope Francis, gave his blessing to the FIP and all its members. This special opportunity was made possible due to the efforts of the Italian Podiatry Association (AIP) and the FIP. 

Duchess of Cornwall Commends UK Podiatry Society on its Centennial

Camilla Parker Bowles joined celebrations in honour of the centenary of Britain's first podiatry organization. The Duchess of Cornwall was presented with a sculpture of Her Royal Highness by the Society of Chiropodists and Podiatrists to mark 100 years of the group's existence. She commended the organization's hard work for the past century and said that it does a fantastic job at "keeping us all on the road" and that "without chiropodists and podiatrists, we would not have a leg to stand on".

The society, formed in 1912, came to being in 1945 after five English Chiropody organization's joined together to create the British branch of the European body. Stuart Baird, chairman of the organization said: "We are extremely proud of the work and advancements made by the profession over the last 100 years. We now have consultant podiatirsts employed in the Natiional Health System in the fields of podiatric medicine and podiatric surgery".
