FIP 2015 AGM in ATHENS, GREECE

On Saturday May 23, 2015 the FIP held this years annual general meeting in Athens, Greece This year 22 countries were represented. President, Carine Haemels presided over the meeting leading the discussion and debates on many items. Once again she emphasized her manadate, "comminication and transparency", being key items. Brad Sonnema was re-elected as Treasurer. We would like to thank the Hellenic Podiatry Association for their excellent job in hosting this year's meeting.

FIP President Haemels Attends 2015 SOCAP Delegate Assembly
SOCAP Chairman David Dunning, APMA President Dr Phil Ward, FIP President Carine Haemels, FIP Vice President Dr Matt Garoufalis, and Delegate Assembly Chair - Glyn Wallen are seen above at this years 2015 SOCAP Delegate Assembly in Bristol, United Kingdom. President Haemels addressed the Assembly with a presentation that included the 2016, FIP World Congress and the 2015 World Foot Health Awareness Program for this May. She also informed all SOCAP members that they are automatically, FIP members.

FIP President Carine Haemels (Belgium)
On March 22, 2015 FIP President, Carine Haemels addressed the APMA House of Delegates (HOD) in a Washington D.C. The HOD is the legislative and governing body of the APMA and is composed of certified delegates and alternates from each of the US state societies. The HOD meets once a year to hold elections and make decisions about strategic direction of their organization. The central theme of President Haemels speech addressed the activities and directives that the FIP is planning for this coming year ie: increasing communications, World Foot Health Awareness Month, Special Olympics International and increasing the overall fucntions of all FIP Committees. She also stressed the overall importance of the APMA and SOCAP taking active roles as global, leaders in the profession

FIP website offering online educational material on diabetes
We are pleased to announce that new online educational courses have been added to the FIP website for our members. These courses are provided by PRESENT Diabetes as a collaborative initiative with the FIP and its International Academy of Podiatric Medical Educators.
PRESENT Diabetes is an innovative educational concept for the diabetes management team. It is designed to unite researchers and caregivers around the world into a collaborative community, with the single goal of fighting the epidemic that diabetes has become.
